Fuel spill shuts down DuPont Parkway in Chattanooga - Chattanooga Times Free Press

alemonarki.blogspot.com

A large fuel spill has caused Dupont Parkway to be shut down for a time on Friday due to slick conditions, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

A CFD fuel truck was traveling on the road when it lost one of its hoses, dumping 200-300 gallons of diesel fuel on DuPont Parkway and Amnicola Highway. The spill goes from DuPont Parkway to the on-ramp to the C.B. Robinson Bridge.

Southbound traffic on Dupont Parkway has been shut down from Highway 153 and from the 4100 block of North Access Road to Amnicola Highway. Amnicola Highway has been reduced down to one lane from Dupont to Pepsi Cola, according to a CFD tweet.

An environmental company is assisting with the cleanup.
