Cleaning up a fuel spill will require closing an inside shoulder on Interstate 40 in Lonoke County nightly for a week starting Monday, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
Remediation workers with ARTG Environmental LLC of Little Rock will close the eastbound inside shoulder about 2 miles east of Kerr Road from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. daily, weather permitting, to conduct the fuel-spill cleanup inside the median.
The work involves removing and replacing topsoil, the department said.
Traffic will be controlled by signs, message boards and traffic cones.
