LONDON, Feb 6 (Reuters) - The Bank of England could shy away from buying the bonds of fossil fuel companies as it attempts to make its balance sheet greener, Governor Andrew Bailey said in an interview published by the Observer newspaper on Saturday.
Asked if the BoE’s plans to overhaul its bond-buying programmes would mean moving away from fossil fuel companies, Bailey said: “Yes, it could. We are serious about this issue.”
