Tullow Oil said Friday that its Jubilee South East project offshore Ghana has been successfully launched, and is set to lift gross production from the Jubilee oil field to 100,000 barrels of oil a day.
The oil-and-gas company said first production has been brought onstream and an additional two producers and one water injector are expected to come onstream this year.
The production will help generate significant free cash flow, as the company works on its transition into being a low-debt business with financial strength to pursue value-accretive opportunities, it said.
The Jubilee South East project is being operated through Tullow Oil's joint venture with Kosmos Energy, Ghana National Petroleum Corp., Petro SA and Jubilee Oil Holdings.
