Updated at 1:05 p.m. with confirmation from the Dallas Fuel.
Lee “Jecse” Seung-soo didn’t want to retire. He wanted another opportunity.
The main support player went as far as tweeting that very thought on Nov. 7 at 1:13 a.m. CT. But by then, he already knew he had a spot on the Dallas Fuel.
The Dallas Fuel on Tuesday afternoon announced the signing of free agent Jecse, who was most recently with the Houston Outlaws.

Now, Jecse brings the Fuel another step closer to a complete Overwatch League team. He knew his spot with the Fuel was there for him, but that didn’t mean his note to Twitter was merely a joke.
“I really just wanted to write out my feelings when the free agents market opened up,” Lee told The Dallas Morning News via interpreter. “I really didn’t want to retire, since I was almost forced to.”
Being on a team that rivaled his former squad was also an attractive reason to sign with the Fuel, Lee said. He was happy he could stay with a Texas team, but was looking forward to a new era.
“I feel like there were a couple things that Houston did not necessarily end up going through with in terms of the promises they made,” Lee said. “So far Dallas has been keeping their promises and I like that.”
Lee’s connection with the current edition of the Fuel may be obvious to OWL fans. He was with Element Mystic for the start of his Overwatch career and now joins forces with Dallas players Kim “DoHa” Dongha, Kim “SP9RK1E” Yeong-han, Choi “Hanbin” Han-been, Jun “Fielder” Kwon, Lee “Fearless” Eui-Seok and former Houston teammate Kim “Rapel” Jung-keun.
Jecse was on the same Element Mystic squad in 2018 as Rapel and the Fuel’s recently signed main tank, Fearless.
With the seven players along with head coach Yun “RUSH” Hee-won and assistant coaches Kim “Yong” Yong-Jin and Go “Aid” Jae-yoon, the Fuel officially meet the minimum requirements for OWL teams. Now Dallas can focus on depth and team chemistry.
Jecse felt the team chemistry was already there.
“Personally I viewed our old roster as a very good one because we all got along very well,” Jecse said. “In terms of the feedback we got from the coaches and how receptive the players were regarding the feedback, everything fell together well.”
Jecse brings quality capability on Lucio, Mercy and Brigitte to the Fuel, and will likely work closely in tandem with Rapel and Fielder.
Other than a hitscan player, the Fuel have covered all the bases with their new-look roster.
