Fuel tankers funded by Qatar entered the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing for the first time since Operation Guardian of the Walls on Monday. The decision was approved following a security assessment and is dependent on continued stability of the security situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announced the decision to allow the entry of the fuel tankers on Sunday.The decision to resume the transfer of fuel tankers was announced the same day Israel received a message from the Gaza Strip, requesting the transfer of around 10 fuel tanks for power stations, Walla! news reported.Israeli officials told Israeli media on Monday that despite the agreement to allow the entry of Qatari fuel, Israel had still not agreed to allow Qatari funds into the Gaza Strip.COGAT announced on Thursday that the fishing zone along the Gaza coast would be extended from six nautical miles to nine nautical miles and that the import of raw materials for essential civilian factories would be allowed as well starting last Friday.

The Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Monday that Egyptian mediators told Hamas that Israel would open the crossings with Gaza at the end of the week if the state of calm continued.

The terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip warned Egypt that they would escalate the situation at the end of the week if their demands were not met.

Al-Akhbar claimed as well that terrorists renewed launches of incendiary balloons towards Israel on Sunday. Despite the claims, no reports of launches were published by the balloon units, nor were any balloon sightings or landings reported in Israel.
