One person was hospitalized after a tanker truck crashed and was left hanging off a West Dallas overpass Tuesday morning, closing the highway for several hours.
The tanker, which was full of fuel, crashed into an SUV about 2:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Loop 12, near Singleton Boulevard, along the Dallas-Irving border. Officials said the cab of the truck dangling off the bridge.
Dallas police said one person was taken to a nearby hospital, but their condition is unknown.It’s unclear whether that person is the driver of one of the vehicles.
Irving police said traffic delays were expected throughout the morning. The state highway was closed as of 7:40 a.m.
Traffic was being diverted at Shady Grove Road.
